Dichondra Dichondra Repens is a herbaceous perennial plant native to New Zealand and Australia. Dichondra seeds germinate very fast, and also commonly called Kidney Weed, Lawn Leaf, and Dichondra Pony Foot, Dichondra Repens is  a warm season ground cover that has an upright, creeping growth habit, and Dichondra grows very close to the ground - usually not over 2 inches tall. Once established Dichondra produces bright-green foliage with broad, clover-like leaves and forms a thick, dense, carpet-like ground cover. If grown as a lawn alternative Dichondra can mowed to around 1 1/2 inch height for the best density.

Dichondra is used in many ground cover situations where normal grasses may not do well, and if this is the case, Dichondra does not need to be mown, so it is very useful as a lawn substitute in landscaping areas where the regular maintenance is not available for some reason. Dichondra Repens seeds need light to germinate, so it is not recommended to cover the seeds for the best germination, and the mature Dichondra tolerates light foot traffic providing a bright green color and a cushion feel underfoot.

    Love Dichondra

These are gorgeous! Provides a thick, medium green ground cover exactly as promised. They were correct, you do need to water several times/day in the beginning. It did take about a month to see good growth.
