Celery Utah 52-70 [ Apium Graveolens ] is an open pollinated popular nutritious cool weather vegetable producing long crisp stalks. It is 2 1/2 inch tall and has medium to dark green stalks. It forms a full crisp heart and is a good variety for home or market gardens. Start seed indoors or in the greenhouse in early spring. Transplant indoor started seedlings outdoors after danger of frost has passed. Can also be sown directly outdoors after danger of frost has passed. Plant in early spring in rows 1/4 inch deep in well-pulverized soil. Early plantings germinate best. Transplant in rows 3 feet apart leaving 3-4 inches between plants. Delicious raw or in salads, soups and stews.
