Godetia or Farewell to Spring [ Clarkia Amoena ] is a native to California and British Columbia, and it is one of the most beautiful flowers you can grow. The Godetia is also one of the showiest wildflowers. The plant has large, cup-shaped flowers that bloom in shades of light and dark pink. The flowers are satiny, wavy, and rippling, looking somewhat like a full skirt and are ideal as a cut flower.
Godetia or Farewell to Spring [ Clarkia Amoena ] is the most flamboyant western native wildflower. Plants need full sun in coastal climates and part shade in hot summer climates and inland. It is easily grown in average, moderately fertile, well-drained soils in full sun. Plants appreciate good air circulation. Start seed indoors in pots 6-8 weeks before last frost date or sow directly in the garden as soon as the ground can be worked. The seeds can be sown in fall in mild climates. Godetia is dramatic grown in large pots.
