Maximilian Sunflower [ Helianthus Maximiliani ] is an attractive tall perennial that bears beautiful sunny-yellow daisy-like flowers with a brown center from Summer to Fall. It is easy to germinate, and this is only one of the wonderful, permanent native perennial sunflowers. It is tall, and should be planted at the back of your meadow, and, as a clump or background, this species will reward you every year with beautiful late blooms, extending your meadow’s bloom season.
Maximilian Sunflower [ Helianthus Maximiliani ] is a perennial, so this plant returns each spring from same roots, forming expanding clump. Numerous bright yellow 3 inch flowers are found on the upper half of unbranched stems. Helianthus maximiliani is majestic looking and is an eye-catcher. Blooms second spring from seed.
The plant is attractive to bees, butterflies and birds.
