Rose Mallow [ Lavatera Trimestris ] is a robust, fast growing annual, native to Europe, but has naturalized throughout the United States. This annual grows rather quickly into fairly tall shrubs with large satiny flowers. Freely branching, it becomes covered with numerous, ice-white, pink or rose colored blooms measuring up to 4 inches across.
Rose Mallow [ Lavatera Trimestris ] grows quickly and blooms heavily, The flowers will bloom for many weeks if the faded blooms are removed and where the summers aren't too hot. The plant can re-grow following spring if seed falls on bare ground. It does not seem to be temperamental about soil conditions and can thrive in full sun or partial shade.
