Spinach Bloomsdale [ Spinacia Oleracea ] is an open pollinated spinach that has dark green deeply savoyed leaves. The plant stands well in hot weather without bolting and bear for an extremely long period of time. A vigorous upright plant that does well in spring, summer and fall. An important green crop that is very hardy and withstands considerable freezing weather. Easy to grow. For early spring crops, sow late in September and protect with hay or straw throughout the winter. Sow in spring as early as possible. During the summer, pack seed firmly in the soil to get better germination since dry soil can prevent germination. It is the fine quality spinach, very tender, excellent fresh flavor in salads or cooked with vinegar dressing or canned.
