BORAGE [ Borago Officinalis ] has bright blue, star-shaped flowers (which bloom most of the summer) make borage one of the prettiest herb plants, thought the dark green leaves are rather plain. It can be planted as an unusual 2 foot annual herb for its pure ornamental value, to attract much coveted bees to your garden, and to harvest for teas and other summer drinks. Use the small new leaves and the distinctive 1 1/2 inch star shaped purple-blue flowers in hot and cold drinks, especially teas.
BORAGE [ Borago Officinalis ] will grow well in very poor soils, and it can be grown in pots, but does very well in the ground. Do not cover seeds, as they need light to germinate. Plants self-sow freely, so you can enjoy more plants next year!
