Broccoli Raab Spring [ Brassoca Rapa ] is an open pollinated large plant with dark green leaves that develops small clusters of buds on short stems for spring and early fall harvest. There is no central flower bud but lots of buds from side shoots. Used for its zesty mustard like flavor in Italian and other ethnic cuisine. Produces over a long period, rich in vitamins, very easy to grow. Sow from early to mid spring and again in late summer through early fall. Cover seed with 1/4 inch fine soil. Space rows about 2 feet apart. Gradually thin to 8 inches apart harvesting thinned greens. Plant in early fall for fall harvest. Will over winter from a late fall seeding in mild climates or with shelter.
