Collards Georgia [ Brassica Oleracea ] is an open pollinated 3 feet tall plant that has loose clusters of blue-green, slightly crumpled, juicy leaves. This non-heading plant has a mild cabbage-like flavor that is improved by a slight freeze. Resistant to bolting and tolerant of heat and poor soil. Direct seed 2 weeks before the last frost for a spring harvest. Direct seed in summer for a fall harvest. The plant is tolerant of hot and cold weather. Space 12-18 inches apart.
