Phlox Red [ Phlox Drummondii ] is native beauty hails from hot, dry Texas, but is extremely adaptable, and it is widely cultivated and has escaped and established itself, especially on road shoulders. Phlox is usually planted in masses in borders and beds, much like petunias and scarlet sage with which it mixes nicely.

Phlox Red [ Phlox Drummondii ] is a great plant, quite showy, fairly easy to grow. In spring it displays showy, five-lobed red flowers that usually have a lighter-colored "eye" in the center. Flowers are pretty good-sized – one inch in diameter - and floriferous, and concentrated in clusters on top of sturdy, erect stems.

The plant is great for roadsides, floral gardens, wooden barrels, mixtures.
