The plant is an annual that has naturalized throughout the United States. Flowers are light yellow and are up to two inches across, and they are richly scented and very attractive to moths.
Primrose Evening [ Oenothera Lamarckiana ] makes a good meadow plant, and it is also great along roadsides and fence lines. Primrose likes sunny, well-drained soils and blooms during the summer. The plant grows quickly, blooms heavily, and often reseeds when seed falls on bare ground.
