Carnation Mix Dianthus Caryophyllus is a perennial flower native to Eurasia. Carnation Mix seeds can be planted directly outdoors, and this dwarf variety of Dianthus grows between 12 and 24 inches tall producing large crimson, rose, pink, and white flowers on a top of upright, stiff stems. The scent of blooming Dianthus Caryophyllus attracts butterflies, bees and hummingbirds.
Carnation Mix is great for containers, cutting gardens, rock gardens, and hanging baskets. Carnation is also an excellent border plant. If the Dianthus Caryophyllus seeds are planted in early spring, Carnation will bloom the first year, and a mid summer plantings will bloom the following year. Dianthus likes to grow in full sun or partial shade, and well-drained soil is required. Carnation is an outstanding cut or dried flower that can be used in any floral arrangement.
