Erigeron Azure Fairy Erigeron Speciosus is a herbaceous perennial flowering plant that is native to North America. Erigeron Azure Fairy seeds can be started indoors 4-6 weeks before last frost, and also commonly known as Aspen Fleabane, Garden Fleabane, Showy Fleabane, Daisy Fleabane, Dainty Daisy Oregon Fleabane, and Showy Daisy, Erigeron Speciosus features light-green foliage with lance-shaped, basal and stem leaves. Erigeron Azure Fairy blooms all summer long with clumps of large, 1-1/2 inch in diameter, daisy-like, semi-double, lavender flowers with yellow center and many tiny petals attracting butterflies along with other pollinators.
Erigeron Azure Fairy can be grown as a ground cover, meadow or border plant, and its highly attractive clumps of daisy-like blooms look fabulous in rock gardens, baskets, window boxes and containers. Erigeron Speciosus seeds must be just slightly pressed into the soil and not covered, because light is needed for germination. Once established Aspen Fleabane prefers to grow in full sun tolerating partial shade, and the best soil is fertile, moist, well drained; however, Erigeron tolerates most soils perfectly, and the plant is drought resistant. Erigeron Azure Fairy makes a wonderful, long-lasting cut flower.
