Sedum Woodland Stonecrop Sedum Ternatum is a herbaceous perennial plant native to North America. Sedum Woodland Stonecrop seeds can be started indoors or directly outdoors. Commonly called Mountain Stonecrop, Three-leaved Stonecrop, Whorled Stonecrop, and Wild Stonecrop, this low to the ground, spreading by creeping stems Sedum grows 3-6 inches tall and features light green foliage with small, rounded, fleshy, succulent-like leaves. The clusters of tiny white, star-like flowers with purplish stamens appear on erect stems above the foliage in spring, and Whorled Stonecrop sweetly fragrant flowers attract butterflies and other native pollinators.

Sedum Woodland Stonecrop is best for growing in rock gardens or as a groundcover. Three-Leaved Stonecrop looks superb when it sprawls over rocks looking quite showy when the masses of sharp-tipped flowers are on display. Sedum Ternatum seeds are tiny, so they have to be mixed with sand and sown in a protected location, and once established, Woodland Stonecrop is very low maintenance, drought and shade tolerant and more adaptable to moist soils than other Sedums.
