Castor Bean Impala Ricinus Communis is a tender perennial shrub that is grown as an annual in most regions. Castor Bean Impala seeds germinate quickly, and Ricinus Communis grows fast reaching 5-6 feet in a single season, and its large, exotic looking, bronze-red leaves create a dramatic tropical effect in a garden. Castor Bean blooms in summer and fall when the plant is 1 foot tall, and clusters of sulfur-yellow to scarlet blooms attract bees and butterflies.

Castor Bean Impala is excellent for establishing temporary screens in the garden. Ricinus Communis seeds have to be kept moist but not wet until the germination occurs, and this tropical perennial likes hot, humid conditions growing best in full sun, rich, moist, well-drained soil and Castor Bean Impala can be used as a cut flower for fresh or dried floral arrangements. Its side branches with flowers are superb for fresh bouquets, and the seed-pods are used in dried arrangements.
