Grassy Bells Blue Edraianthus Tenuifolius is an ornamental, perennial flowering grass native to Eastern Europe. If after sowing Grassy Bells Blue seeds indoors in late winter, there is no germination at typical room temperature in 2 to 3 weeks, it is recommended to move the seeds to a temperature of less than 41 F until germination occurs. Also known as Rock Bells, Edraianthus Tenuifolius forms a low tuft or mound of narrow grassy-like leaves, and in early summer, the lovely, upward facing, violet-blue clusters of bell-shaped flowers appear on long prostrate stems. The large flower clusters create the charming effect of a mound of grass surrounded by a ring of flowers.

Grassy Bells Blue are just a perfect flowers for the rock or alpine gardens, containers, for growing in rock crevices and the top of a wall. Edraianthus Tenuifolius seeds can be sown at any time but are best sown in winter or early spring to benefit from a cold spell in the wet compost to break their dormancy. The established Blue Grassy Bells are drought tolerant, and this plant grows best in full sun or partial shade preferring superior drainage, so a gritty soil is ideal.
