Sedum Russian Stonecrop Sedum Kamtschaticum is a semi-evergreen succulent perennial native to the Pacific coast of Russia Kamchatka Peninsula and northern China. Also commonly called Orange Stonecrop, Kamchatka Sedum, and Kamchatka Stonecrop this succulent plant can be started from Sedum Kamtschaticum seeds indoors or directly outdoors. Once established Russian Stonecrop grows low to the ground, and its dense foliage are composed of mounds of glossy, thick, deep-green succulent leaves that turn red in fall. The Kamchatka Sedum blooms in summer and fall, and its showy clusters of small, star-shaped, long-lasting golden-yellow flowers attract butterflies and bees.

Sedum Russian Stonecrop is a trailing ground cover plant that spreads indefinitely. Kamchatka Stonecrop is often planted in mixed containers, rock gardens, and crevices on walls. Kamchatka Sedum seeds have to be just pressed slightly into the soil, and the soil have to kept moist until germination. The established Sedum Kamtschaticum grows well in full sun and sandy, gravely average or even poor soil. Kamchatka Stonecrop is winter hardy and drought tolerant.
