Snapdragon Creeping Asarina Procumbens is a herbaceous perennial plant native to Southern Europe. Snapdragon Creeping seeds can be started indoors or directly outdoors in spring after last frost. Another scientific name of this plant is Antirrhinum Asarina, and the common names are Twining Snapdragon and Trailing Snapdragon. Asarina Procumbens grows only 3 inches tall and spreads its trailing stems 24 inches wide featuring fuzzy foliage with kidney-shaped, coarsely dentate, velvety, gray-green leaves and blooming with fragrant, pale-yellow with deep yellow throat and light purple veins, snapdragon-like flowers for many months throughout the summer. Trailing Snapdragon attracts bees making it an excellent addition to pollinator gardens.
Snapdragon Creeping is an easy care, ground-covering perennial that is perfect for rock gardens, containers, pots, hanging baskets, raised flower beds, as a groundcover, cascading over stone walls, edges and ledges. Asarina Procumbens seeds germinate fast, and established Twining Snapdragon prefers to grow in full sun or partial shade tolerating heat and humidity requiring moderate watering and thriving in rich, sandy, gritty, well-drained soil. The plant is evergreen in warm winter climates, and it self-sows in optimum growing conditions.
