Lady's Mantle Alpine Alchemilla Alpina is herbaceous perennial native to Arctic-montane moorlands and alpine meadows of Europe, extending into southern Greenland. Lady's Mantle Alpine seeds could be started indoors or directly outdoors. Also commonly called Mountain Lady's Mantle,  Alchemilla Alpina grows low to the ground forming mounds of deeply lobed green leaves with silver edges and spreading slowly. In summer, the clusters of tiny chartreuse lime-green flowers appear above this low-growing perennial, creating a frothy effect that lasts for many weeks. The Alchemilla flowers attract bees and butterflies.

Lady's Mantle Alpine is a wonderful addition to the ornamental garden, and this attractive low-growing perennial often used as a groundcover or planted in borders and flower bed edges, and due to its low growing habit this plant makes an excellent, unusual choice for rock gardens where Mountain Lady's Mantle's diminutive mound can be cozied against rocks, along paths or atop stone walls. Alchemilla Alpina seeds should be planted not deeper than 1/8 inch, and established Alpine Lady's Mantle tolerates a variety of soil types including clay and prefers moist, well-drained soil growing best prefers full sun to part shade. The unlikely looking Lady's Mantle Alpine flowers are often used as a cut flower for floral arrangements.
