Plantain Alpine Adenostyles Alpina is herbaceous perennial plant belonging to the genus Adenostyles of the family Asteraceae and native to the mountainous southern Europe. Plantain Alpine seeds can be started indoors or directly outdoors in spring or fall. Also commonly called Hedge-Garlic and Adenostyle, Adenostyles Alpina is a clamping perennial plant that forms erect dense clumps of dark green, kidney-shaped, toothed leaves, and in addition to the attractive clumps of basal foliage, the showy, dense fluffy corymbs of small, cylindrical rose-lilac flowers on erect stems appear all summer long.

Plantain Alpine is excellent for planting in rock gardens, alpine gardens, borders and large containers. Adenostyles Alpina seeds germinate in 21-28 days, and once established Alpine Plantain prefers to grow on humus rich, moist to average and fertile soil in shade or partial shade.
